CHF to RSD Converter

Enter an amount to convert Swiss francs to Serbian dinars, or swap to go the other way. It uses the official National Bank of Serbia (NBS) middle rate for the franc and shows the date it’s from. The franc has a particular resonance in the region because of the CHF-indexed housing loans many households once carried.

The middle rate is a reference value. Banks and exchange offices trade at their own buy/sell rates, so the amount you actually get will differ.

How it works

Your amount is multiplied by the NBS official middle rate for the Swiss franc. Since the dinar is managed against the euro, CHF/RSD moves with the global EUR/CHF market — when the franc strengthens against the euro (as it tends to in uncertain times), it also strengthens against the dinar.

The figure shown is the middle (reference) rate for the published date, baked into the page and flagged when it’s more than a week old. It is not what a bank pays: buying dinars with francs uses a buy rate below the middle, and the reverse a sell rate above it, with the spread kept by the exchange.

Practical examples

Money from Switzerland

A 500 CHF transfer from relatives abroad is about 63,398 RSD at a middle rate of 126.80. Enter 500 with CHF selected to see the dinar amount.

Frequently asked questions

What exchange rate does this use?

The official National Bank of Serbia middle rate (zvanični srednji kurs) for the Swiss franc, shown with its publication date. It’s a reference rate, not a bank’s buy or sell quote.

Why do people in the region watch the franc so closely?

For years many housing loans were indexed to the Swiss franc. When the franc surged — especially after 2015 — instalments jumped, which became a major financial and legal issue. That history keeps CHF conversions relevant here beyond travel or transfers.

How many dinars is one franc?

Recently around 125–127 RSD, usually a little above the euro because the franc tends to be stronger. It isn’t pegged, so it moves with the global franc–euro rate — check the date on the rate shown.

Can I use this to recompute an old franc loan instalment?

Only roughly, and only at today’s rate. A loan instalment for a past month must use the official rate for that exact date (and the loan’s specific terms). This tool converts at the single stored rate, so treat historical figures as indicative, not exact.

Why is the bank’s amount different?

The middle rate is a midpoint. Exchanging francs for dinars, a bank applies a buy rate below it; buying francs, a sell rate above it. The gap is the exchange’s margin, so your real amount differs from the middle figure.

Is the rate live?

No. The site is static, so the rate is the NBS value from the date shown, refreshed periodically rather than in real time. For an exact live quote, check with your bank at the moment of exchange.

Can I convert dinars back to francs?

Yes — use the swap button or set the “from” currency to RSD. The reverse uses the same middle rate, so the round trip is exact here, unlike a real double exchange which loses the spread twice.

Does it accept the decimal comma?

Yes. Type 500 or 12.345,67 — thousand separators and the Serbian decimal comma are read correctly, and results are shown to two decimals.

Is my amount sent anywhere?

No. The rate is bundled with the page and the conversion runs in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded and analytics never receives it.
