Pick a date, a time and two zones, and this converter tells you the matching local time in the other place — 3 p.m. in Belgrade is 9 a.m. in New York. Daylight saving is applied automatically for the date you choose, and the tool flags when the answer lands on the previous or next day.
Choose a date and time to convert.
How it works
The time you enter is treated as the wall-clock time in the source zone. The tool converts that to a single moment in time (a UTC instant) using the source zone’s offset on that date, then reads that same instant back in the target zone. Because it works from one shared instant, the two displayed times always refer to the exact same moment.
Offsets come from the browser’s built-in time-zone database, which knows each zone’s daylight-saving rules and history — so a summer date uses the summer offset and a winter date the winter one, without any settings to keep updated. The date defaults to your current date and time when the tool loads; change any field to convert a different moment.
Practical examples
Scheduling a call with New York
You want to talk at 3:00 p.m. Belgrade time on a January weekday. Set the time to 15:00, from Belgrade, to New York: it shows 9:00 a.m. the same day — a comfortable slot for both sides.
A late-night message to Tokyo
It is 23:00 in Belgrade and you message a colleague in Tokyo. The converter shows 07:00 the next morning in Tokyo, with a "next day" note, so you know they will read it when they wake up.
Catching a US webinar
A webinar is announced for 12:00 p.m. New York time in July. Set from New York, to Belgrade, and you get 18:00 the same evening — daylight saving on both sides handled for you.
Frequently asked questions
How does the converter handle daylight saving time?
Automatically. It uses the browser’s time-zone database, which contains each zone’s daylight-saving rules. The offset applied depends on the exact date you choose, so a July conversion and a January conversion for the same city can differ by an hour.
Why does the result sometimes fall on a different day?
Because zones can be many hours apart. Converting a late evening time eastward, or an early morning time westward, can push the clock past midnight. The tool shows a "previous day" or "next day" note whenever that happens.
Which time do I enter — the source or the destination?
Enter the time as it reads on the clock in the "from" zone. The tool then tells you what that same moment is in the "to" zone. Use the swap button to reverse the direction.
What is UTC?
UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) is the global reference time that zones are defined against. Belgrade is UTC+1 in winter and UTC+2 in summer; New York is UTC−5 and UTC−4. Picking UTC as a zone lets you convert to or from that reference directly.
Does it work for past and future dates?
Yes, within the rules the time-zone database knows. For dates far in the future it assumes today’s daylight-saving rules continue; for the past it uses the historical rules on record, which is accurate for recent decades.
Why are some offsets not whole hours?
A few zones are offset by 30 or 45 minutes — India is UTC+5:30, for instance. The tool shows offsets as hours and minutes (UTC+05:30) so these are exact.
What time format does it use?
A 24-hour clock, with the date written out in your interface language. This avoids the a.m./p.m. ambiguity that causes missed meetings.
Do I need to set my own time zone anywhere?
No. Both zones are chosen explicitly from the two dropdowns, so the result does not depend on your device’s settings. Only the default date and time when the page loads come from your device.
Which cities are in the list?
A focused set covering Serbia and the places people here most often coordinate with — major European capitals, several North American zones, plus Dubai, India, China, Japan and Australia. Each entry represents its whole time zone.
Is my input sent anywhere?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser using built-in date functions. Nothing you enter leaves your device.
